Petition requesting the resignation of National Assembly Speaker Tsveta Karayancheva, supported by 96 MPs of BSP and MRF, has been filed in parliament.
Earlier today chairwoman of the BSP for Bulgaria parliamentary group, Kornelia Ninova announced the reasons behind the request. Among them are Karayancheva's ignorance of the constitution and violation of the rules of parliament, turning the National Assembly into an appendage to the will of Prime Minister Boyko Borissov, as well as gross violation of the rules of the legislative process, disrespect for transparency and publicity in the work of parliament, and behavior that undermined the authority of the institution, BTA reported.
Chair of the parliamentary group of GERB, Daniela Daritkova said they fully supported Tsveta Karayancheva, accusing the BSP of using the parliament for political purposes, BNR reporters informed.
