On the 111th night of anti-government protests today, mothers from the civic initiative “The system is killing us” are organizing a torchlight procession in memory of the “children who are victims of the the social services’ policy for taking them out of specialized homes”.

The mothers say that the brutal truth about this policy shows that children with disabilities are being thrown into “houses of horror”. Nobody cares about them, the mothers say and call for retribution, BGNES reports.

Last night’s 110th day of anti-government protests passed without incident. The protesters added another resignation to their list of demands – that of Vejdi Radhidov, chair of the culture committee of the Bulgarian National Assembly.

As usual the protesters marched to Eagles’ Bridge, temporarily blocking the intersection.
