Survey: High blood pressure is most common chronic condition in Bulgaria

In 2019, the most common chronic condition in Bulgaria was hypertension recorded in 29.7% of people over the age of 15, according to the European Health Interview, quoted by the National Statistical Institute. 

Second place is occupied by disorders of the lower back indicated by 10.4 percent of people. 
Ischemic heart disease is declared by 5.8 percent of men and 8.1 percent of women. 
Diabetes is among the socially significant diseases for 6.9 percent of the population.
16.2 percent of men and 42% of women have never drunk alcohol. 23.6 percent of men and 22.3 percent of women consume alcohol once a month. 17.4% of men and 3.6% of women drink alcohol every day, according to the survey.
