The National Assembly has voted, at first reading, an additional annual subsidy amounting to over 1.2 million euro for the Bulgarian film industry.

The aim is, by force of the amendments to the film industry act, to extend the financial framework for Bulgarian filmmaking for the production of feature, documentary and animated films. The amendments also envisage stimuli for film companies making films in this country – they will be reimbursed 25% out of a maximum of 80% of  the expenses they have made in the country.
