The Anti-corruption and Forfeiture of Illegally Acquired Assets Commission has filed a claim for the confiscation of illegally-acquired assets to the tune of over EUR 200 million. The claims concern 36 properties and 7 motor vehicles, reported BTA.

The anti-corruption commission demands the forfeiture of assets to the tune of more than EUR 142 million belonging to businessman Vasil Bozhkov. The proceedings began after this country’s Prosecutor’s Office pressed charges against Bozhkov that between 2014 and 2020 he was leading an organized criminal group. The anti-corruption commission demands the confiscation of a yacht, a speedboat and a “Bombardier” aircraft.

The anti-corruption commission also demands the seizure of 31 real estate properties belonging to Vasil Bozhkov and related persons. The properties are located in Bulgaria’s capital Sofia, the coastal town of Balchik, Greece and France.
