President Radev: March 10 is a moral lesson bequeathed by our ancestors

For centuries, tolerance and respect for different ethnic groups and religions have been among the highest virtues of the Bulgarian people. They were most evident in the dark years of World War II, when Bulgaria managed to rescue its Jewish community and help many others escape Nazi-occupied Europe, said Bulgaria’s President Rumen Radev on occasion of the Day of the Holocaust and the Rescue of Bulgarian Jews, reported BTA.

On March 10, we celebrate not only the 78th anniversary of the rescue of the Bulgarian Jews, but also honor the moral lesson in humanity, tolerance and statesmanship left by our ancestors to the future generations, stressed Bulgaria’s head of state Radev.
