No one in the Bulgarian Development Bank can give loans of 50 million euros anymore, as the institution has a new statute, Minister of Economy Kiril Petkov has told BNT.

It has been recently established that the bank distributed loans totaling over 500 million euros to eight private companies. According to the minister, the battle aimed at making BDB work only for small and medium-sized businesses seems to be over.

Kiril Petkov also starts inspections of several dams, because initial indications seem alarming, "just like those in BDB". According to him, the State Consolidation Company invested over 300 million euros in the repair of dam walls and facilities with the idea to restore more than 400 dams, but so far only ten have been repaired.
