In response to accusations coming from GERB party that it is delaying the final announcement of the election results, the Central Election Commission (CEC) is categorical that 100% of the election papers from the polling stations have been processed. "Regarding the voting abroad - there the results were processed quickly despite the large number of polling stations,“ CEC spokesperson Rositsa Mateva said for BNT. "We did our job the way we have in previous years and the way other CEC colleagues have done. By 5.50 PM on 12 July all commissions were processed, almost 800 in number. There was a delay because the papers undergo security checks by officials from the State Agency for National Security and are then transferred to Information Services."
The Central Election Commission states it will announce the official results within the time limit set, and with them – the distribution of seats in the next parliament.
