A third booster dose of vaccines against Covid-19, which will strengthen the first two, will start to be administered in Bulgaria soon, the director of the Centre for Infectious and Parasitic Diseases Prof. Iva Hristova told bTV.

There will be a recommendation for a third dose for certain risk groups, Hristova said, adding that this dose is administered 8 months after the second and is to strengthen immunity. It will be recommended for people with immune deficiency, for cancer patients, as well as for older citizens over 65 years.
Hristova added that children do not infect others, but get infected, and explained that a teacher can transmit the coronavirus to an entire classroom. That is why it is important for adults to be immunized, the professor explained.
