A partial state of emergency for a period of seven days has been declared by the municipality of Kavarna by order of mayor Elena Baltadzhieva. The decision is related to the risk of loss of human life and risk to the health of the crew of the stranded ship Vera SU, as well as the occurrence of adverse effects on the environment, BNR Varna reported.

Disaster management measures are being taken and the ship’s crew would be evacuated at request of the captain. The sailors would undergo health control and might be quarantined. Access to the Yailata area is prohibited with the exception of persons involved in carrying out the measures.
