Almost 4,000 women get breast cancer every year

1,200 pink balloons were let loose over Sofia to commemorate the women who died of breast cancer during the past year.

The initiative belongs to St. Sofia obstetrics and gynecology municipal hospital which is offering preventive screenings until the end of the month. The number of women with breast cancer is increasing, Ministry of Health data show. 4,061 patients with breast cancer were registered last year – 11% of all cancer patients in the country.
