A total of 5,016 candidates for MPs from 20 political parties and 7 coalitions are participating at the third Parliamentary elections this year. The number of polling stations exceeds 11,600. The number of eligible voters amounts to 6,708,189. There are 1,581 polling stations in Bulgaria’s capital Sofia.

Voting in polling stations with more than 300 voters will be held via voting machines only, like at the early snap elections on July 11. There will be voting machines in 9,391 polling stations. There will be two devices in 2,119 polling stations. Bulgarians vote for President and members of Parliament via one voting machine and with one smart card. People have three options when voting via a voting machine:

1. To vote for President and Vice President only;

2. To vote for members of Parliament only;

3. To vote simultaneously for President and members of Parliament.

There will be one or two control receipts from the voting machine, depending on the selected option.

As in previous elections, voters can choose a number of preference, i.e. to vote for a candidate for an MP from the electoral list of their preferred political party.

Voters placed under a mandatory quarantine or isolation may vote via a mobile ballot box, if they have submitted the necessary application in advance. If they have a qualified electronic signature, they can submit an online voting application to vote by means of a mobile ballot box on the day of election.

Election day begins at 7.00 am and ends at 20.00 pm.
