Legislation related to telework is archaic and inadequate, according to Iliya Krastev, chairman of the board of the Association for Innovation, Business Excellence, Services and Technology. He recalled in an interview with BNR that the business had proposed changes to the regulations to the last three governments, but they had not been discussed. Iliya Krastev also criticized the requests to check the work done remotely in order to establish whether the rights of workers are respected. "At the same time, visas for digital nomads have been adopted in Romania and the country is positioning itself as a location that attracts people working from all locations," he added.
