Bulgarian carriers decided to stop their protest on May 11. According to protesters, the police exceeded their powers against the drivers and in order to avoid escalation of tension, the protest action was temporarily stopped. The organizers have permission from the Sofia Municipality and the police to protest on May 12th and 13th, Yordan Arabadjiev of the Union of International Carriers has told BNR.

"We need to reach an agreement because the Bulgarian economy needs to move. On the other hand, the Bulgarian government cannot be forced to provide preferential conditions to someone without taking into account the social situation and the general economic situation," the Minister of Growth Daniel Lorer has told bTV.
