Basel Institute on Governance to help Bulgaria fight corruption

The Bulgarian government has signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Basel Institute on Governance because of an ineffective prosecutor's office. The Swiss organization is independent and specializes in the fight against corruption and related financial crimes.

The Bulgarian government will use the organization's expertise in selecting law enforcement officials and in introducing more effective investigation and tracking of assets. An analysis of the main obstacles that Bulgaria’s fight against corruption faces will be made.
