The first stage of the construction of the Bulgaria-Greece interconnector (IGB) should be ready by the end of this week, caretaker Regional Minister Ivan Shishkov said after a meeting with the parties involved in its construction.
He added that he had held a terse and straightforward conversation with the builder - about the documents and the commitments that the builder had not fulfilled. The minister also said that he was extremely satisfied during his last visit to the site, but he could not say the same about today's visit.
The next inspection of the IGB will be on Monday. According to the government's assurances, the interconnector, through which the country will receive the entire contracted amount of Azeri gas, should be operational by October 1 this year.
