The same company is behind one of the problematic sections of Bulgaria's Trakia Motorway and the repair of the emblematic yellow paving stones boulevard in Sofia, Caretaker Regional Minister Ivan Shishkov told BNT.

According to him, the problem with the repairs is not in the contractor company "Trace", but in the way in which orders are placed and state control is organized.

Sofia is about to lose European funding for the renovation of the city center, the minister also said. In order for the money to be absorbed, the renovation of the entire central part of the city must be ready and completed in good quality by March 2023, but the main works are still to come.

As for the highway, the caretaker cabinet claims that BGN 40 million (EUR 20.4 million) was saved when the construction of the two lots of the highway was awarded.
