"Natural gas has been secured for the winter period", Bulgaria’s caretaker Minister of Energy Rosen Hristov said for bTV.
“We have received offers and we are negotiating the price. If we manage to secure additional quantities of natural gas at a lower price, we will reduce the quantity that is pumped out of the gas storage facility in Chiren, which will allow us to keep the price lower”, Minister Hristov noted.
“There is no shortage of gas, which means that prices should remain at the current levels", said Minister Hristov. "The only impediment is the policy of the Netherlands, which has proposed a gas price cap at EUR 275 per megawatt hour. This is sending wrong signals to traders. Our position is that this cap should not exceed EUR 150 per megawatt hour," said Rosen Hristov.
