A few minutes before the end of the year, a year full of crises and challenges, President Rumen Radev delivered his traditional New Year's address, pointing out that in moments of the most severe trials, when human lives and our conscience were at stake, our society had shown empathy and spiritual strength, maturity, trust and unity to bring us back the faith that Bulgaria would endure. Institutions and citizens had interacted to help the Ukrainian war refugees and the victims of the floods near Karlovo, he said.

"There are no unattainable goals when citizens' energy is invested not in saving themselves but in the rise of the whole nation," the President stressed, thanking all those who have worked for a better Bulgaria in the past year.

Rumen Radev expressed his hopes that in the new year the priorities of the Bulgarian Parliament will match those of the citizens and that the political parties will assume their responsibility for the long-term sustainable development of Bulgaria.

Radev wished the New Year 2023 to bring peace to all. "We should greet the year with confidence and hope for the future, overcoming apathy and division, because only united with the strength and talent of the entire nation can we build the Bulgaria our children will stay in and be proud of," Rumen Radev underlined.

"We should thank our neighbours, relatives and friends for their love and support and pay tribute to those who are at their workplaces and posts on the festive night. Let us wish our compatriots in all parts of the world a prosperous year. May the New Year bring health, love and prosperity to all," the Head of State of Bulgaria concluded in his New Year's address.
