Stanimir Ilchev was elected chairman of the National Movement for Stability and Progress, NDSV, the Bulgarian news agency BTA reports. He was elected unanimously at the 9th regular congress of the party which is getting ready to take part in the next election for parliament. Addressing the delegates, Stanimir Ilchev pointed out that for the NDSV it is very important to monitor the way the political formations are behaving during the election campaigning and whether they are backtracking from their own programmes because that is the way to find out whether there are any potential partners in the next National Assembly.
The aim of the NDSV is to act as counterbalance of the current situation and to treat the political opponents as rivals, not an enemies. In Stanimir Ilchev’s words, the aim of the party’s programme is to present to the public objective and quantifiable intentions and applicable ideas, rather than ideas which are just pretty. The congress also unanimously adopted amendments to the statues of the party, as well as a new National and Scrutiny Council.
