Soundtracks have frequently come to live a life of their own. In Bulgarian filmmaking there are quite a number of such examples, including among the newest releases. The film Petya of my Petya, inspired by the life and work of poetess Petya Dubarova, who committed suicide at a very early age, was released a year ago. To mark the anniversary of the film’s premiere, we offer you a song from its soundtrack that has come to be emblematic – Breath of Sun, performed by Reni Popmincheva, music by George Strezov, and lyrics by Petya Dubarova herself. Breath of Sun has come to be regarded as a successful and recognizable brand in Bulgarian cinema and is now a favourite with audiences in this country. It comes in two versions - the original and an acoustic version. We now offer you the acoustic version.

The man who composed the music, George Strezov, and who plays the piano in the song, is a highly successful film and game music composer in Bulgaria. Here is what he says about the acoustic version of Breath of Sun: “The beauty of music is to be found in simple sounds and words capable of explaining complex feelings. That is what this song does. Creating it was such a special experience for the entire team.”
