It is April Fools' Day. The Museum House of Humour and Satire in Gabrovo celebrates its birthday with doors open day. Gabrovo (Central North Bulgaria) is known as Bulgaria’s ‘capital of humour’. Every year, in the month of May, the town hosts the International Festival of Humour and Satire. The festival goes back to the merry procession of disguised people, known as Oleliyna, and the masquerade balls from the early 20th century.

At 10.00 am, three acclaimed artists Ivailo Tsvetkov, Irina Kitanova and Valentin Georgiev will start drawing caricatures live. The cartoonists will entertain the museum’s visitors after 16 pm as well, when drawing will continue. Ivaylo Tsvetkov is undoubtedly one of the most recognizable master cartoonists. His cartoons can often be seen on the pages of popular printed press, as a swift reaction to political events in Bulgaria and abroad.

On this day, special attention is also paid to the children who sincerely laugh at the April Fools' jokes and pranks.
