BNR’s Director General Milen Mitev elected to EBU Radio Committee

During the regular session of the Radio Assembly of the European Broadcasting Union in Athens on 27 and 28 April, the Director General of the Bulgarian National Radio Milen Mitev was elected member of the Radio Committee on a two-year term (2023-2025).

The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) is the world’s leading alliance of public service media with 112 member organizations in 56 countries and an additional 30 Associates in Asia, Africa, Australasia and the Americas. The Bulgarian National Radio and Bulgarian National Television have been members since 1993. Sibyle Veil, CEO of Radio France was elected chair of the committee. Besides Bulgaria, the elected members include representatives of public service media from Great Britain, Switzerland, Slovenia, Greece, Romania, Lithuania, Italy, Croatia, Germany, Ukraine, Czechia and Sweden.

The EBU Radio Committee
This is the first time a director general of the Bulgarian National Radio has been elected to the EBU Radio Committee. The election of Milen Mitev, in challenging competition with other candidates, comes as recognition of the BNR’s active role in the work of the EBU and its position of a committed and reliable partner to European media outlets. Rayna Konstantinova and Albena Milanova have been vice presidents of the EBU’s Radio Committee.
