Bulgaria’s Minister of Economy Bogdan Bogdanov dismissed the executive director and the board of directors of the State Consolidation Company, which manages the enterprises in the system of the ministry. The new management is temporary and their salaries will be reduced by half, the minister announced.

The State Consolidation Company manages a capital of over BGN 1 billion (more than EUR 500 million). Six out of eleven companies are inefficient. According to an analysis of the enterprises in the ministry's system, unjustified costs exceed EUR 347.68 million. Inefficient state-owned companies will be deprived of representation costs, and a limit of EUR 2556.46 per year will be introduced for the rest. A comprehensive analysis of all companies is pending. Business programmes for the period 2024-2026 will be also prepared. State Consolidation Company is a sole joint stock company with one hundred percent state ownership of its capital.
