The International Festival of Military Bands and the Festival of Crafts on Samovodska Charshia (Street of Crafts) in Veliko Tarnovo both start today. They will also be the first events within the celebration of the 115th anniversary of Bulgaria's independence, reports BNR correspondent Zdravka Maslyankova. Among the participants in the Festival of Military Bands is the Wind Orchestra of the Royal Belgian Air Force. Veliko Tarnovo was the first Bulgarian town where a military orchestra played 144 years ago at the adoption of the Constitution of Tarnovo.

The "Night of the Samovodska Charshia" will kick off today on the Street of Crafts, with more than 70 artisans from Bulgaria, Mexico and Peru taking part by the end of the week, according to Georgi Danchev of the Municipal Tourist Agency "Tsarevgrad Tarnovo", organiser of the event for the 13th year.
