Bulgaria’s Parliament adopted the bill for ratification of the international treaty between Bulgaria and the United States on the acquisition of new Stryker combat vehicles for the infantry, BNR's reporter Daniel Inkov informed.

GERB-SDS, We Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria and the Movement for Rights and Freedoms voted in favor. Bulgaria will pay USD 2.2 billion before VAT for 196 Stryker combat vehicles. The implementation of the contract will allow the country to address part of the capability deficit of the Bulgarian land forces in the short term. BSP for Bulgaria and Vazrazhdane criticized the contract. "Bulgaria is signing a blank cheque because this is an estimated price. There is no price for spare parts anywhere", said Bulgarian Socialist Party MP Rumen Gechev. The delivery of the equipment is expected to start in the second quarter of 2025. The last combat vehicle will arrive in Bulgaria in 2028.
