A traditional liturgical procession on the occasion of the feast of St. Patriarch Euthymius is being organized today by the Holy Metropolis of Sofia and the Metropolitan Church "Sveti Sedmochiselnitsi" with the blessing of His Holiness the Metropolitan of Sofia and Bulgarian Patriarch Neophyte. After the Holy Liturgy, at approximately 10:30 a.m., clergy and worshipers will go from the church to the monument of St. Patriarch Euthymius on "Graf Ignatiev" Street in Sofia. Graduates of the Sofia Theological Seminary will head the procession holding icons of the saint.

Saint Euthymius of Tarnovo was the last head of the Bulgarian church before the fall of the country under Ottoman rule in the 14th century.
