Over 140 civil and branch organizations, independent associations and media, experts, scientists, doctors, lawyers, consumers united in the new Movement "To protect the Bulgarian land and food", Svetla Nikolova, chairwoman of the Agrolink association, announced to Radio Bulgaria.

Among the founders of the movement are farmers, beekeepers, human and veterinary doctors and public figures who openly declared that they are against the EC project on GMOs - New Genomic Techniques

Convinced that food is more than sustenance, the participants in the movement call for the preservation of Bulgarian agriculture, the identity of the Bulgarian country, culture and science and publicly state that Bulgaria does not need GMOs - new and old.

The representatives of the movement emphasize that they will make every effort to protect the right of Bulgarians to choose seeds and food, the dignity of Bulgarian agricultural science, as well as the right of Bulgarians to live in nature with rich natural biodiversity - our most valuable heritage, and also our future.

On February 14, there will be a hearing of representatives of the movement in the National Assembly, Svetla Nikolova also pointed out.
