Mountain Rescue Service warns of poor conditions for mountain hiking

The weather conditions for mountain hiking are poor, the Mountain Rescue Service said. Temperatures are around zero. It is cloudy with light rain and, in some places, light snowfall. Ice is also present, as the snow has not melted in many places. Visibility is poor due to fog, mountain rescuers warn.

There will be significant cloudiness over the mountains on Saturday, the the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology said. There will be snow above 1,700 meters, mainly in the Rhodopes, Strandzha ad Sakar mountains. Maximum temperatures at an altitude of 1,200 meters will be around 4°C, at 2,000 meters- around 0°C.
