Tennis: Viktoriya Tomova reaches top position of her career in WTA rankings

Bulgaria’s top female tennis player Viktoriya Tomova has reached the top rankings of her career – 63rd place in the WTA rankings with 1,035 points.

Tomova’s best achievement so far was the 64th position from 5 February this year. In recent weeks, Viktoriya Tomova played at the semifinals of the WTA 250 tournaments in Rabat, and then achieved her first Roland Garros victory. On Sunday, 16 June, she played in the final of the WTA 125 tournament in Valencia, losing to Ann Li, USA, but she did win 81 points which brought her to 63rd position, or only 114 points away from the top 50.  

In the rankings published on 17 June, Grigor Dimitrov keeps his place in the top 10 with 3,775 points.
