President Rumen Radev called on the MPs to reconsider the decision to allocate funds for firefighting equipment to the Ministry of Interior. According to President Radev, a better option would be to allocate the funds to the army, as the Air Force has the necessary expertise. In Rumen Radev’s words, Bulgaria has limited economic and financial resources and cannot afford to duplicate the same activity in several structures.

"This means twice as much administration, twice as many people to maintain equipment and flight crews, which is a significant expenditure'', said President Radev. For instance, if such specialized equipment is assigned to the Ministry of Interior to work only 1 or 2 months a year, the engineers and pilots would have to fly unnecessarily during the remaining 10-11 months to maintain regular flight training, noted Rumen Radev.
