In 2007 the resort was named Bulgarian capital of spa tourism, under the initiative of several tourist organisations. According to Dragomir Naidenov of the Pomorie municipality, responsible for the tourism sphere, the resorts in the municipality were visited by 60,000 tourists during the past season.
