Alexis Weissenberg passed away

Great pianist of Bulgarian birth Alexis Weissenberg passed away Sunday, in Lugano, Switzerland at the age of 82. He is considered one of the best piano performers of the 20th century. Alexis Weissenberg was born in Sofia, studied piano with composer Pancho Vladigerov and was highly revered by Herbert von Karajan. Weissenberg made a world career with his virtuoso interpretations of Lizte, Choppin, Beethoven, Rahmaninov, Brahms, Debussy, Shouman and Tchaikovsky.
