Rossen Plevneliev inaugurated as new Bulgarian President

At an official ceremony in Sofia Rosen Plevneliev was inaugurated as Bulgarian President. Bulgarian Prime Minister Boiko Borissov and all ministers of the government, as well as President of the National Assembly Tsetska Tsacheva, President Zhelyu Zhelev, generals and ambassadors were all present at the ceremony. Outgoing President Georgi Parvanov wished Rosen Plevneliev to continue the efforts of previous presidents for not allowing undermining the president’s authority and to be an active president. Rosen Plevneliev said he would look for unity concerning issues of national priority and added that Bulgaria also needed national programme for development until 2020. President Plevneliev also said he would be pragmatic in his work and would work for growth, employment, justice, better business climate, more investments, better education, innovations, and the cultural development of Bulgaria n globalizing world. The first meeting of the new President Plevneliev was with EU Commissioner responsible for International Cooperation, Humanitarian Aid and Crisis Response Kristalina Georgieva, as well as with EU Commissioner for Regional Policy Johannes Hahn, who are on a visit to Sofia.
