Music fans in Bulgaria have been expecting the latest edition of the Spirit of Burgas Music festival, which will take place in the coastal city on July 27 and 28th. For the sixth time at the stage on the central beach in Burgas and the nearby park some of the most renowned world music artists will perform. Executive director of the festival Stefan Elenkov told us more about the festival.
“On July 27 fans of French singer ZAZ would enjoy her performance. The Editors band will also have a concert. On the next day Wu-Tang Clan will perform, as well as Selah Sue from Belgium. Some of the most famous names in electronic music will be at the Solar Stage. Fans would enjoy Paul Oakenfold and Dub FX.”

These are the highlights of the festival program and here are the details. ZAZ is the stage name of Isabelle Geffroy. Her style combines jazz, soul, and typical French chanson. British rock band Editors will present their 4th studio album in Bulgaria. 10 members of the legendary Wu Tang Clan are also coming to the joy of hardcore hip hop fans. Paul Oakenfold is said to be one of the most influential DJs in the world.

“We are to have 4 stages – the main stage, Solar Dance Arena, Rock Stage, and In the Dark Stage. In relation to the visit of the Editors a number of guests are expected from England and Finland. A big number of Romanian fans came especially for ZAZ. Traditionally there is strong presence from Serbia at the festival.”

“In the Dark Stage” at the festival offers alternative sound and the best of Bulgarian underground music. The stage also offers workshops and many surprises. Bulgarian singer Petya Dankova and the Silhouette Band from Burgas will also perform.
One of the most successful Bulgarian bands – Gravity Co will participate in the Spirit of Burgas 2013. The band was created in 2001 and it has recently released its fourth album. Bulgarian band D2 will come to the Spirit of Burgas too.
Legendary Bulgarian band Review will have a concert during the Spirit of Burgas. Fans will also enjoy the performances of young Bulgarian rock bands such as Odd Crew.
