Bulgaria celebrates the 166th birth anniversary of Hristo Botev

Today, Bulgarians officially celebrated the 166th birth anniversary of the great Bulgarian poet and revolutionary Hristo Botev who gave his life in the struggle for liberation from Ottoman rule. In his hometown Kalofer a formal rally and worship was held. A garland of glory was laid at the monument to Hristo Botev in the eponymous memorial in the town, as well as wreaths on behalf of state and local institutions, military units, hundreds of citizens. On the occasion of Hristo Botev’s 166th birth anniversary, a military ritual of laying wreaths and flowers was held in Sofia at Botev’s monument in the Borisova garden, which included soldiers from the National Guard Unit.
