Council of Europe with positive assessment of Bulgaria’s measures against money laundering

The Council of Europe has published its report on the implementation by Bulgaria of measures against money laundering and financing terrorism. The report contains assessments of Bulgaria’s full or substantial compliance with 39 out of 49 international standards in the field. The report also takes into account the effectiveness of the implementation of technical requirements. This result puts the country in one of the leading places among the assessed countries, with regard to successful measures against money laundering. The Bulgarian financial intelligence service has been assessed as fully complying with the technical standards and effectively performing its functions.
