Extravagant, but always original - this is Petya Buyuklieva, one of the most exciting performers of the Bulgarian pop scene. Endowed with a voice of three octaves and a half, there are no boundaries to her music. She easily engages in a variety of genres, including rock, jazz, folk and even opera. For the stylistic diversity in her repertoire, the singer says:

"This is not so surprising for a person who started playing music since age 4. First I was playing the fiddle, then I graduated the music school with piano. I graduated from the Music Academy in Sofia in the same instrument as well as pop and jazz singing. I performed a variety of styles - I would feel extremely bored if I only sing pop or rock. I have many metamorphoses. On one of my last concerts at the National Palace of Culture in Sofia, I demonstrated them. I went from jazz to pop and rock, all the way to dance music. I showed that for every fan of mine, I have a song and that I will never be monotonous. "

For all fans of the beautiful Bulgarian music, during the summer months Petya Buyuklieva will not save effort and energy:

"Despite the lack of stable summer weather so far, I have many plans. For the fourth time at the invitation of my colleagues, I will participate in a concert in the Summer Theatre in Burgas on June 24. With this initiative, we say "no" to aggression and violence on the roads. We raise funds for the families of the victims and make walkways. Another thing I was eagerly expecting was a summer tour in honor of Toncho Roussev. Together with my colleagues we continue this initiative from last year - to present his most beloved hits. It is wonderful that we meet with fans after the concert sing autographs for hours. I am very happy that my song "My Sea" with music and lyrics by Ivan Belovski was selected to participate in the Burgas and the Sea Festival. On July 26, I will perform it on its stage. I am now preparing the next compilation of my best hits. In early autumn, I will stage a concert in Sofia, which will be filmed and broadcast during the holidays. I am proud that my son is also finishing his album. He is writing the music and lyrics himself and I supported him during studio recordings.

"She’s white but sings like a black singer", exclaimed the pop legend Joseph Kobzon for the charismatic Petya. Buyuklieva reveals she maintains her voice with regular sleep and long walks in the fresh air. One favourite place of hers is the Bachkovo monastery where she prays for the health of all their friends and fans. "Let Bulgarians all over the world not forget their roots. We have to fight for young people and make them return to our beautiful country and not leave it," is Petya Buyuklieva’s message.
