George Soros presents Kristalina Georgieva with Open Society Award

Popular US investor and long-year donor for causes in support of democracy in East Europe George Soros handed to European Commissioner Kristalina Georgieva the award of the Open Society foundation. It is given on the part of the Central European University CEU, which George Soros founded in Budapest. The award is given to prominent personalities whose achievements have substantially contributed for the building up of an open society. Among previous holders of the award we see the names of Karl Popper, Vaclav Havel, Arpad Goncz, Ricardo Lagos, Carla del Ponte, Kofi Annan, Javier Solana and Richard Holbrooke.
