On the day before November 1, the fest of Bulgarian Enlighteners and Arhangelova Zadushnitsa, Varna and Veliki Preslav Metropolitan Yoan came up with an exclusive statement due to Halloween. He called on this fest not to become a part of Bulgarian soul and Bulgarian children, students and young people to “live ever within the pure and holy Orthodox faith”. “This is a pagan ritual of a Celtic religion BC. We don’t need to get 2,000 years back and to scare our little children, when we have such bright fests as the National Enlighteners’ Day and the Day of our dear late ones’ eternal rest”, the priest said.
