The Junior Eurovision 2014 is due in Malta. Bulgaria is taking part with the song Planet of the Children. The performers have already arrived in Malta: ten- year-old singer Krisia and her coevals, twin pianists Hasan and Ibrahim. The concert will be aired on 15 November starting at 7 pm CET. The Bulgarians will appear second on stage. The show will be aired on four continents, with 15 countries involved. This year the motto of the contest is #together and part of the receipts will go in support of WorldVision, an organization in protection of child rights across the world.
Krisia Todorova has become the favorite of Bulgarian TV viewers after she joined Slavi's Talk Show. The vocalist is not troubled by flashing cameras and growing media attention. She is being trained in the town of Razgrad, Northeastern Bulgaria, by vocal pedagogue Svilena Decheva.
The twins Hasan and Ibrahim Ignatov have been playing the piano since 2011. Their father is a rebec player and their sisters sing folk songs. The boys are keen on classical music and love the works of Liszt, Shchedrin, Beethoven, Mozart and Pancho Vladigerov. “They work hard with great enthusiasm and go across a large body of piano works”, their teacher Marinela Marinova says. Hasan and Ibrahim have won a few national and international prizes. “They compete with each other”, their father says but he is also happy that they correct each other.
Following cooperation between two TV channels, the public BNT and the private bTV, the three talented children have recorded the song Planet of the Children. Krisia has come up with the idea about a fairy-tale story revealing her dream of all people living in peace, freedom and goodness. The composition also features the Pleven Philharmonic and Ku-Ku Band. Krisia, Hasan and Ibrahim say they love the song and are positive that their performance will show this emotion. They know their competition and are going to perform with confidence. To see Krisia's message click here:
