Sarah Brightman takes the Bulgarian audience on a voyage in space

World-renowned British soprano Sarah Brightman gave her first concert in Bulgaria in Arena Armeec hall in Sofia on 12 November. She arrived in the country as part of her Dreamchaser World Tour. The singer with the incredible octave range and her characteristic specific crossover style she had prepared a repertoire of the best of her 11 albums.

For her concert in Sofia, she chose the musicians of the Symphony Orchestra of the Bulgarian National Radio. The conductor's baton was held by British conductor Paul Bateman who is also the author of the arrangement of her biggest hit "Time to say goodbye". He was also for the first time in Bulgaria, as his musical collaboration with Sarah Brightman has been lasting for 20 years now. Before the first rehearsal yesterday with the radio symphony orchestra at Studio 1 of the BNR, he praised the Symphony Orchestra of Radio, saying it is an excellent group and added that he was excited to be in Sofia, describing it as an interesting and beautiful city.

Sarah Brightman thanked her Bulgarian fans for the warm welcome. For her duets she invited guest soloist - Swiss artist of Turkish origin Erkan Aki with whom Sarah Brightman performed her hits "Canto Della Terra" and "The Phantom of the Opera", to the loud applause of her fans.

A musical and visual journey into space - this is what Sarah Brightman presented to her delighted spectators in the hall who could watch a huge video wall stunning footage of space and views of the Earth. She also sang some of her iconic performances: "Time to say goodbye", "Nessun Dorma", and cover versions of the hit of Queen - "Who Wants to Live Forever" and Kansas - "Dust in The Wind"- the second encore which put a gentle and contemplative end to a night of cosmic, transcendent music.





Sarah arrived in Bulgaria after the first concert of the tour in Istanbul, and today travels to her next stop in Bucharest. Her world tour continues with concerts in Eastern Europe and will reach Japan.

After the tour, Sarah will stop concerts for almost a year as she will prepare for her journey to the International Space Station. There, she will become the eighth space tourist and will present the first concert on board of the station.
