The 10th edition of Kavarna Rock Fest promises three incredible evenings (June 26 – 28) with some of the best rock and metal bands ever – with Twisted Sister and Within Temptation being the headliners, one can be sure that the festival is going to be remembered for a long time.

“There will be lots of other surprises as well,” Kavarna Mayor Tsonko Tsonev promises. “I hope that Michael Kiske and Kai Hansen /former members of the German Halloween band/ will have a spectacular show with their Unisonic band.”

The fans in Bulgaria will have the unique chance to attend a world premiere. They will listen for a first time to the live renditions of pieces from the new CD of Kamelot. Tsonko Tsonev gives us details:

“The album scores pretty good sales. It quickly went up in the rankings of the Billboard US music magazine. We will also listen to many of their old hits. This will be the second visit of the band – back in 2012 they were on the stage of Kavarna Rock. They have a serious fan base here that is looking forward to meet them. We have also planned another surprise for the fans of symphonic metal with female vocals – the Delain Dutch band is to unveil the festival on Saturday.”

The visit of their compatriots Within Temptation to Kavarna is a part of their global tour, remarkable for its incredible multimedia presentation. The band will head to Wacken, Germany and the SSE Arena, Wembley, GB afterwards. We expect a show with great effects from Within Temptation, with the quality of the greatest rock and metal festivals.

The audience shows huge interest towards the concert of the legendary Twisted Sister (June 28). “We will do it as the verse goes: “We will meet again in 10 years”,” the mayor laughs, as the band participated in the festival’s first edition a decade ago.

The Jagermeister Battle of the Bands contest is among the accents of the festival’s program. Three Bulgarian, three Romanian, one Greek and one Russian band have reached its final, the Sofia-born Full Circle among them. The winner will warm up the concert of Twisted Sister. Besides that the band will receive a chance to work in a professional recording studio. The second winner will open the night of June 27 and will receive a prize from the festival.

For a first time Kavarna Rock Fest will prove that noble causes are not something that fans of hard music are unfamiliar with.

“We will have an initiative under the slogan Rock Helps Ill Kids on Friday,” the mayor says. “Together with the blood center of Varna we will organize a blood donation action for the children in the areas of Dobrich and Varna, who need blood on a monthly basis. Anyone may donate. Then there will be a draw and 20 of the donors will receive free invitations for the festival.”
