Committee investigating suspected Russian and Turkish involvement in home affairs is disbanded

The temporary parliamentary committee, inaugurated on February 19 to investigate allegations on interference on the part of Russia and Turkey in Bulgaria’s home affairs, will be disbanded, high sources from the ruling GERB party inform. Sofia and Moscow exchanged sharp statements because of this committee. The spokesperson of Russia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs Maria Zaharova defined the created committee as ridiculous. The Ambassador of Turkey to Bulgaria, Suleyman Gokce also called its inauguration “an initiative of political motivation”.
