Over 100 million euro will be spent for the modernization of the gas transmission network in this country, Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov said during the official opening of reconstructed and modernized “Lozenets” natural gas compressor station. The premier pointed out that if Bulgaria wanted to be an active participant on the natural gas market in the coming years, it should first modernize its gas infrastructure and complete the planned gas inter-connectors with its neighbors. PM Borissov added that this country was ready to start building the gas inter-connector with Turkey. Investments in rehabilitation and modernization of Bulgaria's national and transit gas pipeline networks is part of the work of the government for diversification of gas sources and supply routes, Energy Minister Temenuzhka Petkova said and added diversification would bring security of supplies and competitive prices to Bulgaria.
