The debt of NEC (the National Electric Company) to the two American thermal power plants Maritza East 1 and Maritza East 3, is worth 900 million euro. In turn the two plants’ debt to Mini Maritza East is worth 165 million euro. In case the National Electric Company fails to complete talks with creditor banks for the loan it needs to pay the debt back and has no money to settle the debt, the American side told the Bulgarian National Radio that they would refer to case to the court of arbitration to be able to have the money back.
