No official release on Belene NPP arbitration ruling

Bulgarian Finance Minister Vladislav Goranov and Energy Minister Temenuzhka Petkova have said that the International Court of Arbitration in Paris has not ruled on Russia’s claim against Bulgaria over the termination of Belene Nuclear Power Plant construction. The online media outlet Mediapool reports that a decision has been made under which Bulgaria should pay 600 million euro, and that the Court will announce the ruling officially in end-April. Russia has brought an action worth 1 billioneuro to theInternational Court of Arbitration in Paris, after Bulgaria suspended the project for the construction of Belene NPP. Bulgaria’s counterclaim is worth 110 million euro.
