Violinist Gergana Gergova is the new concertmaster of Teatro Real in Madrid, one more successful Bulgarian musician in the long list of concertmasters of prestigious orchestras around the world, which Maestro Plamen Djouroff, conductor of the Sofia Soloists chamber ensemble started in the social networks a few days ago. To this moment there are 30 names on this list - and it turns out that there are a great many Bulgarian musicians in the world occupying this most important position in symphony orchestras second to the conductor.

Gergana Gergova will occupy the position of concertmaster in Madrid until January 2017 which coincides with the 200th jubilee of the Teatro Real, the celebrations of which will continue until the end of 2018. She also has a full schedule in May and June this and next year. Though she is young, Gergana Gergova has an enviable music career - she has played with orchestras like the Duisburg Philharmonic Orchestra, Lucerne Festival Strings, the Munich Radio Orchestra, the North German Radio Symphony Orchestra - Hannover, the Bremen German Chamber Philharmonic etc.

As a chamber orchestra performer she has played together with elite musicians. In 2008, Gergana Gergova set up a chamber trio - Image, together with pianist Pavlin Peshev and cellist Thomas Kaufmann. Since then the trio has had numerous concerts around the world with resounding success.
