Google honors Bulgarian poet Pencho Slaveykov

The Google Internet search engine honored with a portrait the birth anniversary of Pencho Slaveykov. The great Bulgarian poet was born on this day 150 years ago. He is one of the emblematic figures in Bulgarian  literature, one of the founders of the Missal (Thought) literary circle, which gave the start of modern Bulgarian literature after the Liberation from Ottoman rule. Slaveykov was nominated for the Nobel Prize for literature for his poem “Song of Blood”. Pencho Slaveykov died in Italy at the age of 46. His remains were transferred to Bulgaria nine years later.
