“Nuclear energy occupies an important place in the energy balance of the country. Approximately 33 percent of the electricity is generated by Kozloduy NPP,” said Energy Minister Temenuzhka Petkova at a meeting with International Atomic Energy Agency Deputy Director General Mikhail Chudakov. In her words electricity production by nuclear power stations provides electricity at affordable prices, a high environmental protection level and guarantees the population’s safety. On his part Mikhail Chudakov stated that the level of nuclear safety in Bulgaria was very high, adding that it could share its own experience in this sphere with other countries.
